This City

Its been a good weekend, balanced out between friends and work. Last night was a relaxed evening spent with friends Asya, Mykal, and Steph.
There were two things that made my head hurt yesterday. First off: laughing so hard as we all sat around the table doing our best impressions of Marilyn Monroe, Vietnamese nail lady, cookie monster, and our plastic surgery face:
"Dr. Dorfman? My jaw line needs rechiseling."
just to name a few. Secondly: It makes me dizzy to wrap my head around the fact that I am in school this summer. Its a bizarre feeling; it definitely feels like summer outside, but I don't have that care free summer feeling that usually goes along with it. Its for a good reason though, right? I hope so, because some vacation time sounds so nice right now. What I'd do to escape to the sands of, well.. anywhere.
This has been on loop. Pretty sure I got it from my music lady Bry

Only til Tomorrow..

I have today to study and pack up.. then, I'm off to Seattle tomorrow! So exciting to head back home again. All of these finals have brought me down with a head cold, so studying isn't really the most beloved thing to do right now. Instead, I find music for the plane ride. Much betttaa.
I'll be in Seattle for two weeks, and we will a 2 day trip to Portland while I am there. Can't wait! I'm probably going to just pass out on the flight there. I'm leaving right after my biostatistics final.

may

Like Caits, I've finally finished my long history term paper of 11 pages... Next will be my French "dissertation" as they call it in French but in American it's really just an essay... then again, the word dissertation sounds so much more time consuming and dramatic.

After said dissertation I will be taking a trip to my Modern Culture research paper of 10 pages and after I have completed that wonderful masterpiece I will endulge in yet another French Paper about nothing and after that I will be dabbing my ink pen to write a paper presenting the pros and cons of banning Pit Bulls........  I can feel my mind expanding as I type!

Mon Dieu, Hookoo

Goodbye summer and that last fun night with Yas, it's 11:30am, on Tuesday.  French Business with a focus on Micro Economics.  Taught in French.  Maybe 9 other students, all of which are nearly fluent.  And then I'm thinking "Mon Dieu!" Like I am fluent myself... Even though repeating the phrase "mon dieu" over and over makes me no more fluent than my dog chilling on the couch at home.  Then they all start debating the idea of buying goods made by French companies or imported goods made by Vietnamese companies and or Chinese companies.  All in french remember and I'm catching phrases and words and for the most part I can understand but responding is out of the question.  Professor Daubigny divides us, right down the middle.  For and against French Producteurs or Other Producteurs.  Thank DIEU that I'm for French Goods made by French Enterprise.  We debate for a couple of minutes.  Surprisingly, I had actually some pretty good slowly stitched sentences that ended up getting a few nods here and there.

And I can't wait to go back on Tuesday.

Caits' post inspired me to share a few songs that I been listening to often. They are all pretty slow and relaxed so enjoy and relax!

Gymnasium und Kaffe Trinken

Today I went to school with Fritz, during break between class we went to Rons for a bit, and then met up with a Anna for coffee at Walter's Coffey. It was a cozy little coffe place with blankets and comfy seats. We sat outside with some blankets since the weather was so nice. Since the cafe is located only 5 minutes from the international school here in Berlin I naturally heard a few english speakers around- most of the schools students are American.
Before heading home we took a nice walk along the canal. I hit my head trying to go on the playground ( I guess you have to be smaller?) and I believe it caused a headache wich I am still slightly feeling. I took some medicine at dinner though, and I already feel so much better.

Feeling Good

I found out that I passed my speech proficiency test yesterday, which was thrilling news for me. Since I was able to pass out of Computers and Speech via exams, I now no longer have to take the two courses this summer. PA majors like myself have extra classes that can not be fit into the year's schedule because our program is accelerated into 5 years instead of the regular 6.
Since I chose to take German as an additional class this fall semester, I would have had two classes instead of one, to complete during summer. My speech and computers requirements however, are now waived! This totally opens up my plans, and unbinds me from everything school related this summer. I feel so accomplished- and free!
Today Mar, Danielle, Ellen and I went to Chinatown- Mar knows all the places to go in the area. After we had some incredible dumplings for lunch, we shopped around East Village. I found so many perfect pieces for the colder weather! It's been a successful past two days.
