Musically Blending

For the rainy summer's day, here are some tunes. The first two are sort of mashups, both featuring songs I adore.

The first, contains the original Heartbeats, by The Knife. Not anything recent, but still awesome nevertheless.
Maskrosbarn's mix is over a loop from Crash Test Dummies 1993 single Mmm Mmm Mmm, which was the soundtrack to my childhood car rides.
Wandering Star, by Polica is here, because, the previous song flows way too perfectly into it, at around 3:08 Näääk basically becomes Wandering Star, in a good way.

Only til Tomorrow..

I have today to study and pack up.. then, I'm off to Seattle tomorrow! So exciting to head back home again. All of these finals have brought me down with a head cold, so studying isn't really the most beloved thing to do right now. Instead, I find music for the plane ride. Much betttaa.
I'll be in Seattle for two weeks, and we will a 2 day trip to Portland while I am there. Can't wait! I'm probably going to just pass out on the flight there. I'm leaving right after my biostatistics final.

Rack Rack City

Last Saturday me and the girls spent the day basking in the Central Park sun. We found the perfect spot out on the lawn, and enjoyed the much welcomed warmth. Between talking and resting, we ate delicious prosciutto and crisp great, watermelon, kettle corn, and chocolate almonds.
We stayed out til the sun began to fall. After feeling the Spring sunshine, no body wanted to leave.
Here we are making our way to Ladurée for Macaroons,at about 67th. Ladurée is located at 864 Madison Ave between 72nd St & 71st St. I highly recommend the chocolate.

On the phone+

Emma, Kayla and I making our way back to campus for Songfest on the windy ferry balcony. There was the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights at eight PM, but we didn't have any luck. Maybe the city made the sky too light?

A little Reunion

Saturday was The Meatball Shop in West Village.  After craving basically the entire menu for a week, Emma, Kayla, and I got our fix. Earlier in the day I caught up with an old friend from Newport, who has recently moved to the city. We started our day at The Green Farmers Market in Union square, then we headed over to some other shops, and made sure to hit the huge sample sale going on at Chelsea Market, which ends on the 17th.
Anara and I went to high school together, and I hadn't seen her since junior year! It was so nice to finally catch up.
We walked thirty blocks. We deserved this. I had the espresso ice-cream with brownie walnut and ginger cookies. Yum.
Kayla and Emma sassin it up metro style.

Camping Out in NYC

The Great Outdoors. No, more like, the great NYC- where I will be spending my Thursday, and Friday night camping out with Rozmary and Melissa in front of NBC Studios by Rockerfeller center. We aren't just doing this for kicks, though, we are hoping to get a ticket to SNL on Saturday morning. The guest is Zooey Deschanel! Ahh I hope we get it! We are prepared with blankets, a tent, mini heater and food. Along with some books ( Hunger Games!), chem and anatomy notebooks, and music. Im not sure if I'll really be able to study, but maybe I will be able to?
Wish us luck! Hopefully we are near the front of the line when we get there tonight; most people go in line on Friday, so we have a good chance.

Friday with the Aussies

Amanda will be leaving us to fly back to Brisbane on Sunday, so Eka, Amanda and myself spent the day in Upper Eastside. We strolled along Madison and went in and out of shops and stops. We spent some time at Dean&Deluca and came across some really yummy Chocolate Toffe and Crembrulee almonds....Mmmm
It was also imperative Amanda try Lauduree's Macaroons before she left, so we waited in the line- which was an hour this time- to receive our parisien friends. We welcomed them graciously. At Tiffany's later A found a beautiful necklace. I didn't get the chance to picture it, but  it fit her perfectly and it was just a great everyday piece.
For dinner, we went to Sushiya, a Japanese restaurant in Midtown East. The hot green tea was the perfect thing to warm up our cold bodies- the wind really picked up at night and it became pretty chilly. I also tried Agedashi Tofu for the first time, which was also delightful for this cold night. A.T is basically fried tofu topped with spring onion and served in tentsuyu broth made of daishi, mirin, and sho-yu. I wasn't sure if I'd like it at first, but it was a pleasant surprise!
