Flaamingoing Black Marbles of a Pearl!

Okay so pair Black Marble, my new favorite band, with Flaamingos (yes, there is a double A, it is not a typo) and you have the greatest lo-fi alternative indie dance bands in the world.  You can literally dance to both these bands, you can drive to them, you can just sit still and watch the people walk by on the street and imagine their life stories to either / both of these bands!  I'm in love and so should you.  Visit their website at http://flaamingos.bandcamp.com/ (because they are not on spotify) and listen to the whole album!

Je Suis Une Go-Go Girl

One of the reasons I love spotify is because it has this overwhelming power to connect you with all types of music.  It links from artist to artist, song to song, genre to genre.  It's like a never ending map that explains why the world is a sphere and not flat.  Click away from related artist to related artist and find a plethora of soon to be favorite artists.  But I'm not writing this post to convince you to download spotify, I'm here to share what I found tonight.  An album unlike any other.  The band: The Liminianas The Album: Crystal Anis (which is a type of bird)

Each song has a very different beat and rhythm to it so each song is incredibly distinct.  I'm a little tired of finding bands that have great music but each song is almost an exact replica of the other (Foster the People...)

And they are French which compelled me to post about them immediately!
This song is one of their most popular songs:
Bon nuit et vous vous amusez avec ces chansons!

"Indie"

Yes, they are "indie" bands and I'm not sure if hipster is the new gogo girl of our time or what... But it's alright.  It's okay because I happen to find their music so undeniably exciting.  That weird synthy vibe of Craft Spells, or the droning drummy dragging of The Smith Westerns is just different.  I would never deny: Wu Lyf, Smith Westerns, Telekinesis, Blouse, Craft Spells, and/or The Love Language if they were to come on shuffle on my iPod...

Enjoy! -B
